Juneteenth: Reclaiming Identity

Led by Rev. Christie Anderson with guest poet, guest poet, Mwatabu Okantah (KSU).

Juneteenth is a celebration of the resilience and culture of descendents of the enslaved people from Africa. With this grounding, we welcome guest poet and KSU professor, Mwatabu Okantah who, using poetry, storytelling and narrative, will share his search for identity as “an American from Africa.” We will lift up the importance of examining and understanding one’s identity as an individual within a racial/ethnic group.

Sunday Services are offered at 10 AM both in-person (in Hobbs Hall) and via Zoom. The Cortland NY congregation will be joining by Zoom.  (Our Zoom meeting opens at 9:45 for weekly announcements). The link to join the worship service is below. We request that everyone joining the service on Zoom to please display your first and last name.
