“From What Understanding of the World Is Your Life Lived?”

“From What Understanding of the World Is Your Life Lived?”

Guest Minister Rev. Janet Shortall (at UUCAS)

Consider this thought: Physicist Fritjof Capra writes: “From the metabolic networks inside cells to the food webs of ecosystems and networks or communications in human societies, the components of living systems are inter-linked in network fashion…. the extent of interrelatedness of nature may be far greater than almost anyone might have imagined.” (from Presence: Human Purpose and the Field of the Future Senge, Scharmer, Jaworski, Flowers)

Rev. Shortall, a frequent guest preacher at UUCAS, is an Associate Dean of Students, member of the Care and Crisis Services Team, within the Office of the Dean of Students at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.  Prior to her current role, Janet advised EARS (Empathy, Assistance and Referral Service), Cornell’s Peer to Peer counseling and training program, and served as Associate Director of Cornell United Religious Work, where she fostered interfaith dialogue and joint programming between the 30 affiliated chaplaincies.
